Humour and Madness

Markington is a small village nestling in the Yorkshire dales between Harrogate and Ripon. It boasts a School, Church, Shop with Post Office, two Pubs and a lively and eclectic population.
I have been forwarded the following eMail from
Ian Gant, some of you may be interested.

Good Morning, and to you all a most contented end to 2011,

Jacqueline being modest has not thanked me for circulating this mail but as it is now published information I can reveal that in the New-Year Honours List she has been invested with Membership of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

To be short she has been given the MBE for her services to the community.

Having told her that I am sending this out and she was the first to comment that she could not have been so recognised without those friends and family who have supported us throughout some difficult years.

Though we have known of the award for some several weeks we were embargoed to total confidence and while I would otherwise have shared the information I am sure however you will forgive my compliance.

Regards,
