Markington Village Gala Sunday 29th May

The Cricket Ground from 1pm

Markington village gala goes from strength to strength.

On Sunday 29th May at 1pm the gates will open on this popular traditional event that has something for the whole family. Classic cars and Maypole dancing, Traditional ale and Cream teas. PLUS this year the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be buzzing the event (weather permitting) with a Spitfire, possibly their PM631 (mk PRXIX) with a Griffon 66 engine (for you aviation buffs).
We are hugely in debt to the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for their participation, visit them at.

Met Office Outlook is good
UK Outlook for Saturday 28 May 2011 to Saturday 11 Jun 2011:
The relatively dry, settled weather shows signs of continuing through the last few days of May and into the start of June. As a result, both daytime and nightime temperatures are likely to remain above average for the time of year. Although it is likely to be drier than average at first, there are some signs of rainfall amounts recovering closer to average for the time of year in June. Sunshine amounts are also likely to be near average throughout, although they may be above average during the last few days of May and the first few days of June.
